about us

Our Story

Thomasville Community Resource Center began with a heart for people and a vision for something better.

In 1998, a group of caring Thomasville residents came together because they saw the needs in the community clearly. Too many children and families, especially those in underserved and minority communities, were facing barriers to educational enrichment, preventive health services, and economic opportunity. They believed our community could do more, and they were willing to help make that happen.

With early support from Jane Fonda and other generous partners, TCRC opened its doors to serve families with compassion, purpose, and hope. For several years, the Center operated out of the National Guard Armory. Then in 2001, TCRC moved into its current home at 501 Varnedoe Street, where the building was constructed to allow the organization to grow its reach and deepen its impact in the lives of children and families.

Over the years, TCRC has become more than a program site. It has become a trusted part of the community a place where children can learn, families can find support, and lives can be strengthened. Today, we provide early learning programs, after-school programming, wellness services, and family-support resources that help meet the real needs of the people we serve.

Our work now extends across Thomas and Grady counties, but our mission remains the same: to support the educational, emotional, and physical well-being of every child and family we can reach. Everything we do is built on a foundation of prevention, education, and preparation because we believe strong families build strong communities.

At TCRC, we believe in walking alongside people, not just serving them. We believe every child deserves a safe place to grow, every family deserves support, and every community deserves hope.
