Volunteer Opportunities

 Internships

As part of our commitment to lifelong learning, TCRC offers opportunities to students to grow both in and outside of the classroom.

Intern Positions

Positions are available in Development, ASP, and Medical areas.  Positions are unpaid but offer opportunities to gain real hands-on experience, build leadership skills, develop professional networks and deepen knowledge.  

Qualifications

Internships are designed for college undergraduate and graduate students and, in some cases, upper class high school students or adults returning to or retooling for the workforce. Specific qualifications vary according to department.

All interns must demonstrate
  • Interest and ability to work with diverse communities
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to commit the minimum of 10 to 25 hours per week

Internship Descriptions

Development Intern

TCRC depends on foundation, corporate and individuals donations to run programs. In addition, the annual fundraising event raises critical operating funds. Intern sample activities include

  • Assist with proposal preparation and submission
  • Research prospective donors and build relationships with current donors
  • Help plan and implement the annual fundraiser

After School Program Intern

Intern sample activities include

  • Assist with programmatic activities
  • Assist in student assessment and evaluation

Medical Intern

The Community Wellness Center helps foster an environment that helps intern reach their full potential. Intern sample activities include

  • Assisting medical professionals with clinical services
  • Help prepare evidence-based curriculum and educational materials
  • Help organize and run workshops relevant to health issues
