Community Education
21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC), ages 5-19
TCRC takes pride in ensuring that our learning community of young people are provided with additional academic support, preventive and innovative programs toward a stronger community. The purpose of Georgia’s Title IV, Part B, 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program is to provide funds to establish or expand community learning centers that operate during out-of-school hours. TCRC has eight grant funded 21st Century Community Learning Center sites-Scott Elementary School, Circle C Mobile Home Park, Thomasville High School, Mitchell County Middle School, Baker County School, Marguerite Neel Williams Boys and Girls Club of America and McIntyre Park/Cultural Center. The objective of these programs is to improve reading and math skills, improve state test scores, assist students in acquiring on-time promotion to the next grade level, assist in homework completion, improve student behavior, and encourage parents to become involved in the education of their children.
